Lost in Blue 2 - Walkthrough Hello! I've never written a FAQ before, but I am usually very dependent onthem. For Lost in Blue 2, however, almost no one seemed to know what was goingon. I myself only finished the game with the help of all the lovely people onthe message boards (Thank you rainmaker.
You inspire me). In any case, Ithought I would condense all I know into a beginners guide, that hopefullywill help people get through the game a lot faster then I did. Be warned, thisguide does contain spoilers of sorts, but it was the only way to create athorough walk-through.START:You play an 18 year old student (boy or girl) who is taking a school trip.Unfortunately for you, your ship sinks leaving only yourself and another kidstranded on a deserted island.
Your mission: survive to escape.Day 1: You wash up on the island with no idea what is going on. You meet yourpartner a bit farther down the beach (Incidentally, I will refer to this areaas beach 1) Depending on which gender you are, the storyline is a bitdifferent, but the events are basically the same. It doesn't matter much.Anyways, start collecting food: Coconuts, seaweed, and those little bumps inthe sand labeled '???' That are really shellfish.
Stop by the river to get adrink where there is the little depression, henceforth known as the wateringhole. Continue up the hill, heading west.
Jack will have an incident with amushroom (Idiot). Find the cave, and create a fire-starter with a twig andbark.
If you ever played the original Lost in Blue, this should all seem veryfamiliar. Start a fire and cook up whatever you collected. Sleep.A note on cooking: In the beginning, you will only have two options forcooking, cut and bake.
To cut effectively, just zigzag across the foodquickly. That usually cuts everywhere. To bake effectively, let everythingcook for at least two seconds, then draw small quick circles around the food. You unlock more methods of cooking when you progress in the game. You can findspices by hitting the 'A' button whenever you are outside, salt is found onthe beach only.Day 2: Eat what you can, then start exploring. If possible, take your partnerwith you. (I always take my partner with me; the extra backpack comes inhandy) Go west up the ledges, then around the 'U' so you can push the logdown.
Go through the opening to where there are three trees and a river. Jumpacross the stones to get over to another beach (Beach 2).
By one of the treesnear where you jumped over is a stick. Now you can make a spear to gofishing with. Go down the hill until you reach the shoreline. Walk along itheading west, till you hit the cliff.
Climb up it, and head north. There is abig rock blocking the way that you can't push on your own. Your partner canhelp with that. After that you will automatically go home.A note about tools: There is usually more than one way to make tools, the morecomplicated, the better. For example, an okay spear is made with just a stick. However, finding a stone, sharpening it, and adding that to your stick makesan even better spear.
It will last longer and cause more damage to wildanimals. Nearly all tools are like this, so experiment. Or just look at thepicture book FAQ.Day 3: Your partner will wake up weird and leave. Go in and out of the cave afew times, and then head towards the beach.
You will notice a shell, anddecide to make a necklace for your partner. Go back to the cave, give them thenecklace, and everything will be okay again (for a while).
Now that is done,go back to the place you just unblocked. Go through the tunnel, into the nextarea (beach 3) where you will be attacked by a wolf.
I hope you made thatspear! Choose your weapon and go into a mini game. When the wolf lunges atyou, hit either arrow on the sides to dodge it. Tap the wolfto stab it with your spear; you can sometimes get two or three hits in. Ibelieve you don't need a spear, you can fight it barehanded. Anyways, afterthat's done head west towards the ledges. Climb up them to see another path, and a tiger.
You can't fight the tiger then, so just go back down and headhome.Day 5: Gator Attack! For various reasons, you need to fight a gator. Samerules apply in this mini game as they did for the wolf. Head back to the cavewhere there is an earthquake. Spend the day eating and recoveringstrength. Feel free to take days off like this whenever you need them.
If youstill have time, start collecting shells by hitting A whenever you are onsand. When you collect enough, make a necklace. Giving necklaces to yourpartner makes them a lot less 'moody'. A quick bit about spear fishing; thebest places to fish are upriver and down by where you were first washedashore. If you fish to the left of the rocks in the river, you may catch asweet fish, which has more meat then a crucian.
If you fish at the very bottomof the beach, by those two trees, you may catch a sting fish, same reasons. You will have to fish a lot to fill your stomach even halfway.Day 6: Head up to beach 3, where the tiger was before. He aint there now! Youfind yourself in a jungle, where you can find logs and vines. Collectas many as you can, bring partner if you want help carrying stuff.
The jungleleads to two other places. Heading north will lead you to the grasslands, where you can catch larger animals and make a tree house. Be sure to get adrink of water from the stream, there is a rock buried there that can be usedfor cooking. Heading east leads you to the swamp and the tiger.
You actuallyhave to fight the tiger now. Defeating it lets you in the swamp which leads toeven more areas. You can't get very far in the swamp yet, so don't try toohard. Visit both areas briefly on your quest for vines and logs.
Vines areusually hiding in little dead-ends, check them all. Logs are pretty obvious. On your way back, hit the southeast exit.
It leads to a little grove ofbamboo, where you can pick up a few bamboo sticks. Head home the ways youcame. When you get home, there will be a ton of cut-scenes. After those, youwill have the ability to create rope, baskets, and build new furniture.Besides rope, vines can be used to make bows (a stick and a vine) or a fishingrod (a stick, a vine, and a sharp stone). Arrows are made by combining a twigand a sharp stone.
Without a feather, they are rather inaccurate, and alwaysshoot high. But you don't really need any of those right now.Day 7: TSUNAMI!!! Actually, it's a good thing. Go to that little patch of sandin the middle of the field to find a bottle and an iron rod (it makes a greatspear). If you head towards beach 3 that day, you see the ship wreck and abottle. Pick up everything on the beach including coconuts.
You don't have tokeep everything, just grab everything and discard what you don't want. Whenthe beach is clean, leave briefly (go into the cave) and go back there.
Youshould find the oil drum, which can be used to store water. Meanwhile, askyour partner to make as much rope as possible. You'll need it to startbuilding things.Day 8: Today would be a good day to tackle the swamp. Bring partner, you needthem to help you push a few extra-long logs. The swamp is very maze like, butif you push every log you run into, you will be able to make a shortcut tobeach 2 (south) and get to the lake (east). When you hit the lake, walk towardthe mini beach to get the option to build the raft. We'll worry about the raftlater, head back to the swamp and out your new shortcut to go home.
At thispoint, I can't really give you a daily to-do-list. Your days will mostlyconsist of gathering materials and building furniture. Just a reminder: vinesand logs are found in the jungle, leaves are found under certain trees, fur isfound by killing large animals. The best way to get fur is killing wolves, seebelow. Here is a list of furniture and the needed materials.Bed:1) 2 log, 1 rope, 6 leaf2) 2 log, 2 rope, 6 leaf3) 2 log, 3 rope, 6 furShelf:1) 1 log, 1 rope2) 2 log, 2 rope3) 3 log, 3 ropeSmoker Shelf:1) 1 log, 1 ropeTable Set:1) 1 log, 2 rope2) 1 log, 2 rope3) 2 log, 2 rope4) 2 log, 2 rope5) 2 log, 2 rope, 3 furWhile you are doing this, you probably will be wondering about easier ways toget food. In the old version you could just get a fishing pole and life waseasy.
Not so anymore. The best way of getting food now is small traps.
Make asmall trap by combining a basket and a twig. Just put it outside your cave andcheck it frequently. You can catch mice, squirrels, pigeons, ducks, andchickens. After you catch one chicken, you will get the option to domesticate the nextone you catch. If you do, it will give you eggs when watered. The trap willlast for 2-3 days, and can be checked nearly constantly to find food. If youwant larger meat, but don't want to shoot it, go to beach 3 after 8 pm. A wolfpack will attack you, mini-game them to get meat, lard, and fur. When you are done with those, or halfway, or whatever, start building the raftto keep exploring.
Remember, 2 people are needed to row across the lake, so besure to bring partner with you on the final day.Raft:1) 2 log, 1 rope2) 2 log, 1 rope3) 2 log, 2 ropeFloating around on the raft will make a few shortcuts available, so whileexploring, stop by every little beach to see what big rocks you can push.Pushing them all will make it so you don't need the raft to get around. At thetop of the lake is the tiger (again). Fight him to be granted access to theruins.Going south will lead to an area of trees, carrots, and potatoes, which inturn leads back to beach 1.
Now you can finally push that large rock to make acomplete stepping stone path. No more swamp for you! When you get home to thecave, another big earthquake will hit.The ruins are a puzzle within themselves, but it's not that difficult. For thepuzzle challenged amongst you, here is how to do it.Room 1(entrance): Pretty simple. Just push those red blocks up twice so theyland on the red tiles. The door will open.Room 2:Visual aid!xx 1) move block one down once. 2) move block 2 left once3 3) move block 3 left once 4) move block 4 left or right once421 Now you can get at the red blocks to move them onto the red tile.Room 3: The tricky part.
This one I'm breaking up into sections.A) 1 1) move 1 left once. THEN:B) 12 1) move 1 down once2 2) move 2 right once3 3) move 3 down onceTHEN: Push the red block down one, the climb over it to get to next area.C) x 1) move 1 left one, climb over it in order to push itx down one, then left onex 1 ( ) THEN:D) ( )1 1) move 1 right 2,2) move 2 down 2,34 3) move 3 down one.4) move 4 left one and up one2Room 4: Pretty much self explanatory. Push the first rock up 2 so you canclimb up, push the first red rock 2 right, climb up and push the second redrock 2 left.Room 5: Visual aid again.( )( ) 1) push 1 up 2, right one.2) push 2 up, 2 left one 31243) push 3 right one, up one4) push 4 left one, up oneAnd you're out!
The path up front leads to beach 4, while the path on the leftleads to the first room, where it can be used as a shortcut both ways. To theright is a really random pool of water, where you can get a drink.Beach 4 is kind of like the first beach. It has a place for a house (up in thetree) and a sandy beach. On said beach you see a lifeboat washed ashore. Arethere other people on the island? Only time will tell.I have mentioned the tree houses before.
They take some time and effort, butthey are useful if you do not want to trek all the way home from whatever farflung corner you are in. You can build a tree house in the grass lands or inbeach 4. The construction for them is the same:Tree-house:1) 4 log, 4 rope2) 4 log, 4 rope3) 4 log, 4 rope4) 4 log, 4 rope5) 3 log, 3 rope6) 3 log, 3 rope7) 3 log, 3 rope, 10 leafYou cannot go into your tree house until it is fully completed.
All of yourfurniture is instantly teleported to whatever home you enter. If you didn'tbring your partner with you, going to bed will insure they are there the nextmorning, along with your chicken if you have one.
The Oil Drum is an extremely helpful item to acquire since it holds thirty full servings of water. Additionally, it's simple to get. Wait for a tsunami to strike, and then head to Beach 3 the following day (it's the beach nearest the jungle). Pick up everything on the beach (such as seaweed, rocks, oysters, et cetera).
You won't be able to hold everything there in your inventory, so continue to discard these items as you pick them up until there's nothing left on the beach. Then, head back into the Water Cave, go back to Beach 3 thereafter, and the Oil Drum will be waiting for you to grab on the beach. Hint - Improve Partner's Cooking Are you sick of having your partner burn everything constantly? Here's a way to change that!Step 1: Go and gather carrots, roots, mushrooms, or anything else you find on the ground.Step 2: Give them to your partner to cook. Get some fish or meat to cook and eat alongside of her/his cookingStep 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 for about 10 days. You should see a remarkable inmprovement with cooking.Remember, you won't fill yourself off of their burnt veggies! Get fish and eat those, too!
Using meat works, but it's generally a waste until the get better. My partner gets me the best possible from using these steps.Submitted by doglordb Hint - 'Pwning' Wild Animals For Food and Profit If you are always dying while fighting an animal, there is a way to avoid dying entirely. In fact, you can avoid getting any damage at all. When in fighting mode, continuously click the right (or left, whatever is your preference) button. Just keep on pressing it. The animal will lounge at you but will miss because you keep on step-siding to the right (or left - just go in one direction constantly).
